Your car spontaneously combusted, your spouse is a cheating whore, your kids are dead OR even worse your business failed and you owe millions to the banks. Damn it!
Losing sucks, basically everyone knows it. You want to win as an entrepreneur, as a businessman, as a winner that you are! I know. I want that too. It doesn’t bring me joy to be the bearer of bad news, but neither you or I will constantly win in life. Sometimes things aren’t going to go our way. Sometimes we just… lose. (maybe it’s Chuck Norris’s fault)
So what should you do after a defeat?
Whoever fault it is, we shouldn’t concern with that right away. Immediately after a defeat, one should regroup and chill out. There will be plenty of time for investigation later. Now we need to do some simple things that will ease the pressure and make us focus in a positive manner. So go and:
Check out a motivational blog
I love watching inspiring videos and reading motivational blogs. It’s a gift that the Internet has bestowed upon us mortals. Before, we didn’t have access to such massive amounts of positivity, just a browse away. Now we can go to these sites and get our daily dose of inspiration, so I love doing that when I feel down.
Yesterday I had my accountant come at my office and inform me of the massive debt that the good ol’ Romanian goverment is waiting to collect from me. Well, it’s really not that massive, but it’s a debt nonetheless, and one which I wasn’t planning on because I knew nothing about it (always watch out for the taxman in advance, he’s like the adult version of the boogieman). So, naturally I felt a bit down after hearing that news, especially since immediately after I got some bad calls from business associates which were having trouble fulfilling the orders our clients put out. That’s just more stress.
So what did I go? Easy. I went on addicted2success.com and read about this Indian family which owns the most expensive house in the world. Now that changed my perspective a bit. I looked at those fat people who manage billions of dollars of assets and immediately thought to myself:
“Hey Victor, you’re better than those poor fat people!”
That was enough to feel better. For real, that is all I did.
Laught it off
Sometimes I choose to watch SouthPark online. Or stand-ups. Like the one below.
Dylan Moran is a genius. Or you could just watch one of my hourly updated humor sites! Humor and comedy will immediately defocus you from your problems and that is what we are trying to achieve here. Just ignore your problems. You’ll have plenty of time to fix them once you get your vibration in a better state and attack them with your positive thoughts!
Do 50 push-ups
Exercising real fast after a deadly mental blow will make the blow seem like a kid’s punch. Psysical pain has a certain way of being more real than mental pain. Mental pain can be tricked (well, frankly, psysical pain too, just watch Derren Brown) and made to go away once you focus on something else.
If you can’t do push-ups, go to the gym and run. Sweat it out. I know you’ll say you don’t feel like doing something like this, but if you won’t, you’ll feel even worse! I know you don’t feel like exercising, but that’s just your negative thoughts trying to live and not die. Kill your negative thoughts by defocusing them!
So when you’re feeling bad, stop feeling bad and start trying to feel better through these tips and also please start trying to marry the daughter of Mukesh and Nita, Isha Ambani, the youngest billionaire heiress. Not really a looker, but damn that’s a lot of dough!
